Teacher Resources:
To help you extend your ongoing efforts to provide for a brighter future for Georgia's students, each month we will be providing you with links to the latest in nano-developments. Below are new sites and links that will help motivate your students toward science, math, and engineering careers.
Sites:
National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network Education Portal
This site offers general information on nanotechnology, links to the Research Experience for Undergraduates and the Research Experience for Teachers programs, lesson plans for teachers, and Nanooze, an online science magazine for ages 8-13.
New site from IEEE that provides lesson plans linked to standards, games, and engineer profiles, as well as a complete list of all the areas of engineering. Descriptions of courses give students an idea of what is needed to prepare for challenging, problem solving careers that benefit mankind.
NanoTech: Nanoscience and Nanotechnology @ Georgia Tech
Provides links to video profiles produced by Georgia Tech students about why they chose a challenging career in nanotechnology research.
National Nanotechnology Initiative
The government's nanotechnology information website which includes and education center. Test your knowledge with the Nano IQ Quiz.
Discover the secrets of everyday stuff!
Downloads:
A downloadable copy of MiRC's Teacher Resources Brochure containing descriptions of websites related to nanotechnology.
A downloadable brochure about the education and outreach activities offered by the NNIN site at MiRC.
A classroom poster about nanotechnology.

A set of informational posters used in our presentations on the following nanotechnology-related topics.
Station 1: Atomic Force Microscopes
Station 2: Lotus Effect info for Lotusan
Station 5: Shape Memory Alloys
Resources:
MiRC's cleanroom webcam where Georgia Tech's research toward nano-scale chips is underway.
Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning
The Mid-Continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL) has developed curriculum modules to teach students about nanoscale science. The two NanoLeap modules are designed for physical science and chemistry classrooms. NanoLeap also includes a variety of multimedia components. Join a Minnesota chemistry class for a remote tour of MiRC's cleanroom with Dr. Greg Book and graduate student Swaminathan Rajaraman. In addition, learn about nanofabrication by viewing a presentation by Dr. Mike Deal of Stanford University.
Nanotechnology Videos:
The European Union's CORDIS website has videos and leaflets on nanotechnology. One video is geared towards students and a second is geared towards the general public.
by University of California TV, San Diego.
NNIN's Social and Ethical Implications of Nanoscale Science and Engineering
Nanotechnology Takes Off
A video on how nanotechnology works and other related nano-based video
Products:
Nanotechnology Consumer Products Inventory
Project on Emerging Technologies: Inventory of Nanotechnology Consumer Products contains 200+ nano-based products.
