NANOFANS FORUM
(Focusing on Advanced Nanobio Systems)
At Microelectronics Research Center, GaTech, a new Forum called, NANOFANS (Focusing on Advanced Nanobio Systems) is being instituted. This will be a biannual forum. The first LUNCHEON meeting will be held on March 14, 2008 (Friday) between 11 AM - 2 PM at the MiRC building. A box lunch is also included at no cost. Please click here to view the agenda for the March 14 event.
The goal for the forum is to connect the medical/life sciences/biology and
nanotechnology communities. The goal is to reach out researchers in the biomedical / life sciences areas and letting them know what nanotechnology can offer them in the advancement of their research.
The purpose of this meeting is also to let the researchers in these biomedical/ life sciences areas know about the wide range of resources available at the microelectronics research center to enable nanotechnology research through National Nanotechnology Infrastructure Network (NNIN). The NNIN is an integrated networked partnership of user facilities, supported by the National Science Foundation, serving the needs of nanoscale science, engineering and technology. NNIN is a research facilitator, providing the high technology equipment resources, staff expertise, and training to enable high quality nanoscale research. Please click the link www.nnin.org to know more about these opportunities.
The mission of Georgia Tech's Microelectronics Research Center (MiRC) is to provide expertise, facilities, infrastructure, and teaming environments to enable and facilitate interdisciplinary research in microelectronics, integrated optoelectronics and microsensors and actuators. The Georgia Tech-NNIN site emphasizes the application of nanofabrication to bioengineering and biomedicine. The MiRC is housed in its own 100,000 sq. ft. building that includes an 8,500 sq. ft. cleanroom (75% class 100, 25% class 10). Please click the link grover.mirc.gatech.edu, to know more about the resources available at the GT-MiRC.
If you would like to discuss about using our resources for your research please do not hesitate to contact us. Is you would like to know more about NANOFANS events, please contact Dr. Paul Joseph, Director of Nanofans Forum, Microelectronics Research Center, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA via e-mail paul.joseph@mirc.gatech.edu or call him at 404-894-5029.
